Mount Rose and Lake Tahoe

On Thursday we decided to take advantage of the nice weather we'd been having and go to one of our favorite parks. It is located at the base of Mt. Rose on the South side of town in an area called Galena. It is called Callahan Park, and we discovered it on a play date and fell in love so we've been back several times even though we live on the complete opposite side of town. It's about a 25 - 30 minute drive (much less than driving across town in Las Vegas).

The park has 2 playgrounds, several grassy areas and a creek that runs along one side. Who needs a playground when there is water made for kids. So much more fun than a water park you have to pay to get into. We brought Phantom because he loves it too.

Afterwards since we were so close, we decided to go check out Incline Village up near the top of Mt. Rose. We grabbed some lunch and found a place to park and eat at a viewing area for the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. After we ate we walked down to the water. It was breathtaking.
