Mater and Big Rigs for Kids

Yesterday while Nate, Phantom and I were walking around the neighborhood a little Min Pin decided to follow us home. He basically picked on Phantom the whole way. He apparently loves other dogs. He had a bark collar on, but no tags. Once we got home and got Phantom into the house Nate and I hopped back in the car with him to drive around and see if anyone was looking for him or recognized him. No luck. Came back, made some signs and went back out to put some up. He mostly stayed in the laundry room because Phantom wasn't a big fan of this little energetic dog and he's so tiny that he could slip through our back fence. I did take him out at one point and tried to keep him in the side yard. Not much luck so back into the laundry room until Eddie got home.
Poor little guy with that huge bark collar. I took it off once we settle down at the house.

After Eddie got home we fed him and took him in the backyard. He was doing pretty well not looking interested in slipping through the back fence until the neighbor's dog, a puppy, decided to stick her head around the corner and peek into our yard. Well little dude went out of our fence and into the neighbor's yard and played with her until Eddie told the neighbor and we got him back. Like I said, he seems to love other dogs and since Phantom wouldn't really play with him he found himself a more suitable playmate. Back into the house after that. After dinner we hadn't gotten any calls and went to hang more signs. As we were hanging one at the front of the neighborhood we saw a lady hanging signs as well. We asked if she'd lost a dog and little guy, also known as Mater, got to go home. He was sweet, but very rambunctious and too small for our yard so I'm glad he didn't need to stay longer. Nate loved him, of course!

Today Nate and Eddie had a guys day at Big Rigs for Kids a fundraiser for a school in town. Here is what they did:

Fun day for Nate and now he is finally napping after not napping for the last 5 days. A week ago yesterday we put some icky stuff on Nate's thumbs to get him to stop sucking. He hasn't put his thumb in his mouth since that first night so hooray. Unfortunately it's caused him not to want to nap and a little more trouble settling down at night. Worthwhile in the long run though.
