Legoland

We had a wonderful opportunity to take Nate to Legoland because we received 3 complimentary tickets to get in (saving us nearly $300...well we wouldn't have spent the $300 to go at all). The timing was perfect since Nate is so into Legos (his Lego collection is getting a bit ridiculous here seeing as he's only been collecting for a year and we have two gift giving occasions coming up) and he's the perfect age for Legoland (it's gear toward younger kids and he's just tall enough to ride every ride.

We drove to Carlsbad, CA Friday afternoon, getting in around 8 pm. Luckily we found a decent hotel only a few miles from Legoland so we hit the beach for a bit before getting to Legoland just before it opened. The day couldn't have been better. We parked up front, got right in and didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes for any ride the whole day. Plus, the weather was perfect. Nate did great even with all of the walking (5 hours of it). He was a happy boy as you will see in a unusual amount of smiling pictures. Eddie took him on all the rides except a safari ride I did with him at the end. It was great. Eddie and I enjoy Legos too so we had fun seeing all of the Lego creations around the park.

Carlsbad State Beach

The first ride and the biggest roller coaster at Legoland. Nate did great!

Star Wars Miniland. So cool!

Las Vegas Miniland.

Washington DC Miniland

Junior Race Cars...these were soooo slow. Mini Gran Prix is better.

We found some super yummy and healthy food for dinner at the Tin Leaf and then went to the beach after the sun had set that night. Nate had a great time getting his feet wet and throwing sand at the waves coming in.

Unfortunayely Nate and I both had a bit of a stomach bug that night, but were okay enough to head home in the morning. The trip was a success and Nate has been playing all morning with a new airport firetruck Lego set he bought in Legoland with his own money. Happy early birthday to our big boy.
