Yesterday our family went to Rock Park to feed the geese as Nate's reward for getting a certain number of marbles for his behavior. Nate has been wanting to feed the geese since we got here, but we haven't had the opportunity until yesterday. We had been to Rock Park a few weeks earlier but didn't have anything to feed the geese. We brought some crackers and Nate had fun feeding the geese and ducks. Then we walked along a path that is next to the river. Beautiful weather.
Today we had a tour of the fire station we go to often to use the community room to play. What a great experience. We actually got to go into the fire station living area and see the rooms, kitchen, living room, etc before going down to see the fire truck. So interesting to actually see it all. Right now there are 4 fire fighters on each squad and they work 48 hours and then are off for 4 days. There used to be 8 fire fighters on each squad, but they had to cut back because of the budget. We didn't get to learn a lot about all of the equipment because pre-schoolers don't have the attention span to listen. We got to look at different parts of the truck and the kids got to climb through the truck and got a plastic helmet on their way out. Nate loved the big trucks and it was hard to keep up with him. We might get to do a tour of another station in May since we had to schedule two tours to accommodate all the people that wanted to go.
