Build a Bear

Nate got a gift certificate for Build a Bear from his Great Grandma and Grandpa Malmstrom for Christmas. I made a split second decision that I wanted to go do that last night since we don't go do things just as a family very often with opposite days off. We ate at Red Robin and the Galleria Mall in Henderson, and then headed to Build a Bear. Eddie and I had never been before either so it was a fun experience for all of us. On the way there we asked Nate what kind of friend he wanted for Ducky (a Build a Bear gift from a while ago). First he said a dragon and that morphed into a dragon-bear that would eat Ducky. This is all out of Nate's mouth with no help from us. Sometimes I wonder where he comes up with these ideas.

Unfortunately there were no dragons to choose from, and after a hard 10 minutes of decision making we settled on a bear. Here are some pictures of the process:

Waiting for his bear to be stuffed as the guy inserts his sounds into the paw.

Pressing the pedal to make the stuffing come out.

Picking out his bear's heart.

The fluffing station.

Spider Bear

Nathan revealing Spider Bear's true identify - Teddy Bear.

Teddy Bear dressed in his Cars jammies before bed.

When we asked Nate what his bear's name was he said Teddy Bear. It was hard to choose from all the outfits they had, but he chose these 2 on his own. He doesn't really know much about Spiderman other than the name and picture from a shirt and pair of shoes he has. He's never seen a cartoon or anything yet. Nate found a cat they had by the register that was on roller skates and had a leash. It was pretty funny. He initially said he wanted a cat. He is very into cats at the moment because we had a cat book from the library that he loved. Silly kid.

I'm sure Nate will enjoy playing with Spider Bear/Teddy Bear and Ducky. They can even share clothes so I suspect we will have a Spider Duck around the house sometimes too. Thanks Great Grandma and Grandpa.

Ducky, who is quite often in various states of undress in Nate's crib these days.
