San Diego

We took our first real family vacation with Nate and our dog, Phantom. We left Vegas for San Diego on Monday and came home Wednesday. We stayed in the Point Loma area close to the Navy base and Ocean Beach. Since we brought Phantom we had to find dog friendly areas, which was not a problem thanks to www.bringfido.com. Our hotel was comfy and right off of the marina where fishing boats were docked. We went to the Ocean Beach dog beach 3 times. It was gorgeous. Nate was not a fan of the water after getting very wet unexpectedly both times. He was happy in the sand or sitting on the towel. Phantom doesn't like water much, but he still got his feet wet and had fun running around. We also went to the Cabrillo Monument Tide Pools in the morning on Tuesday. Beautifil day and early enough we were just about the only people there. Nate had fun hiking around and trying to do everything by himself, which has earned him the nickname DIY Nate. Nate and Phantom were troopers and Phantom went everywhere with us. We had a great time and want to go back with Nate sometime so we can tour some of the big ships and see some other parts of San Diego. Such a beautiful city. It was disappointing to return to the desert, but of course the desert is home.
