Nathan's Birthday celebrations were broken up over the span of 2 days. On Saturday I had a party for Nate and his little friends. It was pretty much just a bunch of little kids playing around in our living room and kitchen. It went very well actually.
On Sunday we went to the first part of church, then came home so we could celebrate with our parents. The grown-ups ate pizza while Nate napped, and then we all headed off to the Las Vegas Zoological Botanical Park. It's a little zoo that's about 3 acres, a perfect size for an almost 1 year old. It was quite enjoyable, especially the goats. Nate thought it was hysterical when one of the goats sneezed. After we got back to our house we had cake and opened presents. I think Nate's birthday went well. His actual birthday is on Tuesday, but we don't have any plans for that day really. I am just taking Nate to have 1 year pictures taken at JC Penney.

| My first attempt at a homemade cake. Not very exciting this year. Hopefully my cake decorating skills will get better and better each year. |
 |
| Nate dug right in to his cake. He even took a few bites. |
 |
| But, then he decided he didn't really like being all covered in frosting. |
 |
| So that was the end of cake eating for Nate. |

Robyn wanted to help. She is definitely better at unwrapping gifts than Nate. Maybe she'll offer lessons before Christmas.

It's hard to believe that on Tuesday it will be one year since our lives changed in the best possible way. I'm looking foward to another year of watching Nate grow and change constantly.
